Kayla Tucker Adams is a highly sought after motivational speaker, writer, public relations executive and on-air talent. Her resume includes radio and television broadcasting, public speaking, feature writing and public relations.With more than fifteen years experience in public relations, Ms. Adams currently serves as the senior director of public relations for T.D. Jakes Ministries. In this position, she is responsible for managing the public image of Bishop T.D. Jakes and all elements of The Potter’s House, T.D. Jakes Ministries and T.D. Jakes Enterprises.
An award-winning public relations professional, she has pitched and secured coverage from some of the top media professionals in the world, including Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil, Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey and Roland Martin. An award-winning public relations professional, Ms. Adams’ clients have been featured in national and local media outlets such as CNN, Oprah Winfrey Network, New York Times, The Washington Post, TV One, Ebony, Essence and JET.
Prior to assuming her current role, Ms. Adams served as director of communications for the Dallas and Ft. Worth chapters of March of Dimes. In this role, Ms. Adams directed media relations, social media impact, internal and external communications and served as a spokesperson for the organization.
On the journalism and broadcast track, Ms. Adams was a writer and managing editor for Phalcon Star Communications, which publishes a group of community newspapers. She also hosted a weekly online news broadcast as well as a gospel music show on the PAX television network in Dallas.
Ms. Adams has a passion for public speaking and has delivered motivational speeches and workshops all over the world for businesses and organizations including March of Dimes, National Association of Black Journalists, The Potter’s House, Texas School Public Relations Association, Region 10 Education Service Center, Prairie View A&M University, Wiley College, Southwestern Christian College, North Texas Central College and various churches, empowerment conferences and youth organizations.
A Presidential Scholar and honor graduate from Prairie View A&M University, Ms. Adams received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio/Television Broadcasting with a minor in Business Administration. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Relations and Business with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.
Ms. Adams has received numerous awards in her educational and professional careers, including National Association of Black Journalists Salute to Excellence Awards, Who’s Who in Black Dallas, Texas School Public Relations Association Star Award Winner and Outstanding Achievement in Communications from PVAMU. She is active in her community, serving on the state committee for African American Outreach for March of Dimes, Public Relations Society of America, DFW Association of Black Journalists, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
